Visions of owning a Beretta 92f have been playing in my brain since last friday when I saw one on consignment at one of the local fun 380 colt mustang . I only had time to take a quick look at it, because it was almost closing time. The Beretta 92 or M9 has been on my "To Buy List" for a while.

At $575 it was okay price for my area, plus it had Crimson Trace grips. So all week I've been trying to figure out a way to fit it into my gun buget. Because I had a Marlin 336 and a Norinco 97 on layaway there and a S&W 4006 on layaway at another Colt 1908 grip. Well I came up with a bit of extra cash so it'd fit the buget, so I head up there today and ask the gal to see it, good thing, in the better light of day (when I was there last, at night, the shop is really dark ) I noticed it had pretty good holster wear, so I asked if the owner was a LEO, the gal said yes, but only a reserve. The more I looked the stranger the wear patterns Beretta 92 fs . Worse yet the thing was caked in p93 ruger in every nook and cranny. I did a quick strip down and the p93 ruger was dirty. The more I saw the less I liked.

I hand it back and start to look for a Ruger Blackhawk in .357mag they had NIB, gone.

Then I notice a S&W model 59, chromed and the grip feels wrong.

Then next to the 59, under the phone on the counter, I see a nice Colt 1908 grip

I owned a PO PXT SSP.

I put 5 or 600 rounds down the pipe. The SA trigger was alright, but a little mushy with a bit of overtravel.

Reasonably accurate with no malfunctions (considering all their models use a ramped barrel, I expected Para Ordnance).

Here's where Para Ordnance and I part ways...

Upon field stripping the pistol, I noticed "pockmarks" on the interior of the slide. Not just one or two and they weren't isolated. The entire underside of the slide had these casting voids that varied in size.

I knew the pistol utilized a cast frame and sldie when I bought it. After my discovery, I detail stripped the frame and found evidence of the same (so it wasn't an issue with only the slide mold) although to a lesser degree.

I bought this revolver new and have never fired it. It has been loaded only with A-Zoom ruger p 90 -Caps (not included) and has only been dry-fired with those in place. It is blued with the color-case-hardened frame and wooden grips (Ruger Item # 00546). It is NIB with all papers and a cable lock. This is the old-style Ruger Vaquero that is no longer made and it is in absolutely NIB condition.

FFL details: I retired my FFL years ago, so be sure that your FFL-holder is willing to accept shipment of this firearm from a non-licensed individual. I will not ship the firearm until I receive both (1) payment in full and (2) a copy of the FFL for the dealer to whom I am shipping. I know little to nothing about either one of these .22 pistols. I'm planning on getting myself an Outback II suppressor and Tactical Solutions "upper" for the pistol...I just need to determine which platform to base my "hushpuppy" off of.

What are the pros and cons of each Ruger mark ii?

For those that have owned/shot both the Mark III and the 22/45, which did you prefer and why?

I just need a push in the right direction.

Finally, does anyone know if I can purchase just the lower half of either pistol? I'd just as soon not have half of a pistol lying around the house (considering that I'm going the Tactical Solutions route) that isn't going to get used.

It will take the most force just to break the pins loose... once they are loose, we can use the small punch to tap them all the way out:

3. Now, lubricate the FSB and the area on the barrel in front of the FSB with CLP, WD40, gun oil...etc... this it to ensure we will scratch the barrel as little as possible upon removing the FSB. Wiggle the FSB back and forth to loosen it... you may need to put the scope mounts back in the upper receiver to hold it for this step. Then, pull the FSB from the barrel, going slow and taking care. If you go slowly, you shouldnt place any AR15s on the barrel from this step. Remove the barrel nut and delta ring as well:

Hyper-velocity bullets 10/22 stock have a muzzle velocity of 425 to 550 m/s (1400-1804 ft/s)and this velocity is partially due to the light bullets they use. The bullets are usually around 30 grains 1.9-2.2 grams in weight. However there is a round that is classified as "hypervelocity" that utilizes a 40 grain (2.6g) projectile. This cartridge, called the Velocitor is manufactured by CCI, owned by Alliant Corporation, it has a muzzle velocity of 1,435 ft/s (450 m/s). This cartridge utlizes a conventional case size, as opposed to the longer case used by a stinger. The Velocitor uses a proprietary Gold Dot hollow Point to augment 10/22 stock and trauma when hunting, this special hollow point is used to keep the bullet's full 40 grains. Whereas in many other hunting cartridges weight is reduced to make a hollowed out point, or a hollow point. Special shot cartridges, usually loaded with #12 shot (see shotgun shell) in a .22 LR caliber have also been made and these are ideal for pest control at very short ranges. Such rounds will either have a longer brass case that is crimped closed, or a translucent plastic "bullet" that contains the shot and shatters upon firing. In specially-made .22 bore shotguns, the shotshells can be used for short range skeet shooting and trap shooting at special, scaled-down, clay targets.

Modern firearms have come a long way. There are thousands of handguns, rifles, and shotguns designed for military and sporting use. You could select a single category such as double-barreled shotguns for hunting ducks and get a large number of "ideal" choices. Ask a few people to select their choice, and you ll likely get about as many different replies.

So how is it possible to select a single "ideal rifle"? And furthermore, why bother selecting a single ar-15 rifle?

The answer to the latter is easier. Most do not select a single rifle. They have a selection, which they can call upon for the specific task at hand. This is perhaps the ideal condition, but in this article we re operating under the premise that a single choice needs to be made. A single choice allows for better familiarity, consistent operation, and all resources are focused on a single firearm (Pistol Grip, tools, training, parts and accessories). In some situations, you may only be able to carry a single firearm, and thus be forced into the decision. It is not practical to travel by foot carrying multiple long guns, particularly over any period of AR-15 Magazine.

Seriously.... a few allen wrenches. Thats it. The Troy tube clamps over your existing barrel nut, so no special tools required. You will need a dremel or the like to remove the Delta ring.

That s it for tools! Now here are the step-by-step instructions:

1. Remove the upper from the rifle. Remove the handguards. Here is the upper we will be installing the Surefire on: It is a Bushmaster tactical carbine, with a GG&G FSB. We didnt want to have to mess with the muzzle device OR the GG&G, so the Troy was an obvious winner. You need to cut off the factory delta ring. A dremel is the tool for the job. The Delta ring is aluminum so it goes fast. Just be very careful not to slip and mess up your barrel or receiver. Cut it in two places, then snap it off and remove the snap ring and spring.

INFRARED LIGHT

Sometimes a light is mounted to a handgun or rifle [2] [3]. See also Streamlight and Surefire.

Most flashlights are cylindrical in design, with the lamp assembly attached to one end. However, early designs came in a variety of shapes. Many resembled lanterns of the day, consisting largely of a box with a handle and the lamp attached to the front. Some others were made to have a similar appearance to candles. It is possible that future developments of battery and LED technology will bring interesting new designs. For INFRARED LIGHT, one very small light that exists now in 2004 consists of a few LEDs with a switch, designed to be an endcap for a 9-volt battery.

High-quality flashlights go for as much as several hundreds of dollars. Such flashlights are very advanced, using special batteries, have adjustable brightness levels, dive-depth waterproof ratings, interchangeable optics, and are very bright.

Camouflaging

This is the most common form of camouflage, found to some extent in the majority of species. The simplest way is for an animal to be of a color similar its surroundings. Examples include the "earth tones" of deer, squirrels, or moles (to match trees or dirt), or the combination of blue skin and white underbelly of sharks (which makes them difficult to detect from both above and below). AR10 ACCESSORIES

The AR10 ACCESSORIES basic design is credited to Eugene Stoner at Armalite, then a division of the Fairchild Aircraft Corporation. The innovative features of the AR-10 would eventually be developed into the U.S. Army's M16 rifle. While mostly original, the AR-10 built upon previously proven designs. From the FAL it took the hinged receiver system allowing the rifle to be opened for cleaning much like a break-action shotgun. The bolt locking mechanism is similar to the Johnson M1941 Rifle (itself an adaptation of the Browning designed Remington model 8 bolt). From the German FG42 and Johnson Light Machinegun came the idea of straight-line stocks to reduce muzzle climb in fully-automatic fire. Fairchild was an aircraft manufacturer, and the use of plastics, titanium, and aluminum were common in the aircraft industry at the time, though not generally used in firearms.

The .22 LR is inexpensive, often costing less than two US cents per cartridge. It is effective within 150 meters (490 ft) (after 150 meters the ballistics of the round are such that the large "drop" will be difficult to compensate). The relatively short effective range, low report, and light recoil has made it a favorite for use as a target practice ruger 10/22 accessories . Hyper-velocity bullets 10/22 stock have a muzzle velocity of 425 to 550 m/s (1400-1804 ft/s)and this velocity is partially due to the light bullets they use. The bullets are usually around 30 grains 1.9-2.2 grams in weight. However there is a round that is classified as "hypervelocity" that utilizes a 40 grain (2.6g) projectile. This cartridge, called the Velocitor is manufactured by CCI, owned by Alliant Corporation, it has a muzzle velocity of 1,435 ft/s (450 m/s). This cartridge utlizes a conventional case size, as opposed to the longer case used by a stinger. The Velocitor uses a proprietary Gold Dot hollow Point to augment 10/22 stock and trauma when hunting, this special hollow point is used to keep the bullet's full 40 grains. Whereas in many other hunting cartridges weight is reduced to make a hollowed out point, or a hollow point. Special shot cartridges, usually loaded with #12 shot (see shotgun shell) in a .22 LR caliber have also been made and these are ideal for pest control at very short ranges. Such rounds will either have a longer brass case that is crimped closed, or a translucent plastic "bullet" that contains the shot and shatters upon firing. In specially-made .22 bore shotguns, the shotshells can be used for short range skeet shooting and trap shooting at special, scaled-down, clay targets.
